BREAKOUT GROUPS ON FRESHMEN PINNING AND SENIOR SENDOFF EVENTS

SEPTEMBER 7, 2023

Board introductions
President/VP Membership - Lara Cook
Treasurer - Cindy Gross
Secretary - Kate Carpenter
VP Fundraising & Socials - Amanda Wininsky
Apparel - Jessica Boga
AICE/CAICC Liason - Jennifer Spence

Message from the President:
We are here to support the students. We want them to feel part of a community and be proud to be in the AICE program. We also want to help parents and guardians navigate the AICE program to help their student(s) be successful in the AICE program.

We’re looking for someone who would like to take over the Treasurer position next year. Ideally that person would be available this year to shadow the current treasurer so they’re ready to hit the ground running next August. Please let the board know if you would be interested in the role.

AICE Boosters Club Goals:
Recruit volunteers for AICE events
Facilitate communication
Fundraise for field trips

Update from the Treasurer:
We have $614.74 in the bank. We have to pay insurance soon which will leave us with around $300 in the account. The bank is charging us because we don’t have at least $1,000 in the account at all times so I’m looking for a new bank.

Last year we raised $1,200 through fundraisers and $800 through booster memberships.
All money raised through fundraisers goes to pay for AICE events.

AICE Events:
This year we would like to put on 4 events. In order to do this we need a parent lead for each one. The lead organizes the event.

Freshman pinning breakfast - takes place in the Spring
Senior send-off - takes place in the Spring and requires a few volunteers

This year we would like to add two events - if we get volunteers.
Sophomore breakfast
Junior breakfast

We also do pizza parties once or twice a year for all AICE students.

Communications:
Please check out chsaiceboosters.org for a calendar of events and meetings, contact information, AICE resources and more. This is also where students who are interested in checking out the AICE program can submit a shadow request.

You can reach the board by emailing chsaiceboosters@gmail.com.

Fundraising updates:

AICE Car Wash - September 23 9a - 1p at Dairy Kurl (1555 Gulf to Bay Blvd)
Money will go toward AICE general fund to pay for AICE events
Looking for student and parent/guardian volunteers
Sign up for 2:15 hour shifts on sign up genius
Cars $10/trucks $15
Can pay at the time or with pre-sale tickets students were given recently - you can also download pre-sale tickets on the AICE boosters website

Calendar fundraiser
We did this last year and it was very successful. It’s a calendar that each day has a school subject listed on it and the donor pays whatever the day number is for their favorite subject. We are looking for a time to do this fundraiser.

When it comes to fundraisers weet can’t do the same fundraiser as another group at the school at the same time so we have to coordinate with the administration.
Please send any ideas you have srfor fundraisers to the board.
AICE T-shirts:
We’re trying to get all orders in by September 15. The shirts should come in October. The order form is available on the AICE boosters website.

AICE/CAICC Senior Field Trip:
We are partnering with CAICC to offer AICE students the opportunity to go on a 4 day trip to New York City.
Carrie Klinefelter is with the CAICC program and organizes the trip. The kids go to several points of interest and attend a Broadway show!

This year’s trip is Wednesday, February 21 - Saturday February 24. A detailed itinerary and tour information is available on the AICE boosters website.

The trip costs $1665 per student. Students can earn credits toward the cost by participating in the Poinsettia and Wreath fundraiser.

The fundraiser has begun - you can download the form on the AICE booster website
Donors will make checks payable to CAICC and then CAICC will cut a check to AICE
Orders need to be in by the end of October; we can pick up the items December 4
Each dollar = a credit and credits students earn will go toward the cost of the field trip
Students of any grade can do the fundraiser and bank their credits for future field trips
One of the AICE boosters goals is to provide AICE students with field trip opportunities. This is the first time we have partnered with CAICC to offer a trip but we hope to add more trip options for all grades.

Bright Futures:
Students can get Bright Futures hours by participating in AICE fundraiser events. All hours are logged through Profferfish. Check out the AICE resources section of the AICE boosters site for details on how to use Profferfish.

Resources:
There are many college fairs coming up and you can find details about those on the AICE boosters website.
